Saw a green Chevy Colorado yesterday

But I don’t care whatsoever about the Chevy Colorado, I don’t need a truck like that, I don’t particularly like GM’s track record, and won’t buy a car with OwnStar on board... but let’s talk about that color.

I saw it in afternoon sun, and I actually had to vocally approve of the gloss and tone of Rainforest Green Metallic. Great flop between very dark, and rich brighter green highlights.

I am getting on board with green cars... but they have to be done right. Chrome and silver tones can look OK with it... but grey plastics (side mirror base and window pillars) look washed out grey, because they really are. that stuff stands out as dull, and really should be as black as possible, and perhaps glossy to just blend into the tinted glass.

I can forgive the truck’s front bumper skid panel and air dam, because they are low to the ground, and not right next to glossy black tinted glass as a contrast, and I know that un-finished plastic is less prone to look bad when it gets scratched or scraped.

What would really be cool would be dark bronze or matte gold wheels, along with a minimum of other decoration, I think that would really pop, although glossy gunmetal gray wheels can be pulled off, if the gray doesn’t look too much like dull cheap plastic.

If I were having a project car painted in a custom color, but wanted to have access to OE-grade touch-up paint, and matching codes... I would really seriously consider painting a cool car that suits dark green, in this particular shade.

I LOVE a sparkly deep green. Best car color ever imo

That is very nice. The highlight is a bit darker, and a bit more blue tinted than Rainforest Green Metallic, which is used on much less expensive cars than C7 Corvettes.

That is a bit less saturated, and slightly gray. A nice color.

I guess I wasn’t really asking for suggestions, more for commentary on Rainforest Green Metallic...

But it is a nice color, and a bit sophisticated, unlike the huge wheels.

Here around Green Bay, WI, we have a ton of these around that are "special edition" and have small Packer G badges on the sides next to the nameplate. I was told that GM brought all the local dealers to a show at Lambeau field to reveal the truck. IMO the green is awesome, but I'm a little biased.

I quite like Toyota’s Spruce Mica.

Off the topic of green, but in central Iowa, I saw a Merc dealer with three new Smart cars, red, black, and purple, each with the gray side trim and roof rails wrapped in yellow instead... with ISU, Iowa, and Northern Iowa logos, respectively. I wondered if that would help sell those dinky little things or not. The ISU Cyclones one REALLY looked like a Little Tikes cozy coupe, which is evidently something someone has also already done.

Damn, I don’t think I have ever seen a BRG(ish) Corvette. I love it! I’m surprised how nice it looks!

Highland Green is a classic.

Kinja'd!!!

Not my first car to drive, but my parent’s first new car when I was quite young...

A dark green with tan vinyl interior 79 Fox Mercury Capri. My grandparents still chide me about talking their ear off when I was 3 about the differences between Capri and Mustang. I was a car freak VERY young, according to them. Much like this one, except not smashed, considering it was a new car back then.

Kinja'd!!!

I can only imagine how cool a Black Magic RS Capri graphic set and those later gold wheels would look on that green, although I might have dialed the yellow hue down one, or maybe two notches on the wheel color... and perhaps left the RS Hood add-on to history. But those fender flares, with T-tops and a hatch back...

Since we are talking about other cool green cars... one of my other favorite examples of dark green... a 260Z 2+2. The chrome trim on the top half, the lower blacked out bumpers and trim, over-fenders, and gunmetal Watanabes/Panasports is a fantastic look.

Kinja'd!!!

The killer... showing that this color can make a relatively lesser-loved 2+2 version of the S30 Datsun Z-car look like a million bucks, even if it isn’t a more-favored 2-seater.
